How Much Does a Personal Bodyguard Cost?

There’s no single price. It depends on what you need. A standard bodyguard or close protection officer costs between £150 to £200 per hour. That’s the going rate for VIP protection at events or personal security.

But your total bill depends on a few things. How long do you need them? One day at an event is different from hiring someone for a week or a month. Longer contracts usually work out cheaper per hour.

Where are you? High-risk areas cost more. London costs more than smaller cities. If you’re in Manchester or Birmingham, expect higher rates than rural areas.

What’s the threat level? Basic protection for a public appearance costs less than serious protection against real threats. Higher risk means more officers and better planning. That pushes the price up.

Travel and accommodation can add to the cost if your bodyguard needs to go somewhere with you. Hotels, flights, meals. That’s usually separate from the hourly rate.

All our close protection officers are SIA licenced and BS7858 vetted. That’s the standard. Anyone offering cheaper rates probably isn’t properly qualified. And unqualified security isn’t security at all.
